18th September: Three representatives from the Southampton & New Forest MGOC made the journey to The Ark in Basingstoke to attend the awards ceremony of Hampshire County Council's Hantsweb Awards 2007. When our turn came we were awarded joint second place in the Best Special Interest Website category... not bad for, as the judges described us, a "niche website"!

1st August: we have now been notified that the Southampton & New Forest MGOC website is one of the 3 finalists for an award in the Best Special Interest Website category of Hampshire County Council's Hantsweb Awards 2007 - that's out of a total of 81 nominees, and 12 shortlisted websites, in that category. The awards ceremony will be held on 18th September at The Ark in Basingstoke. .. wish us luck! |

28th June: we have been notified that the Southampton & New Forest MGOC website is now on the shortlist of 10 nominated websites for an award in the Best Special Interest Website category of Hampshire County Council's Hantsweb Awards 2007 - that's out of a total of 81 nominees in that category. The next step will be for the judges to choose the top 3 finalists - that should be completed by the end of July - fingers crossed! |

Following a long and successful stint as Secretary for Southampton & New Forest MGOC, Tania has finally found herself in a position where there are not hours in the day, and has had to stand down. Her place is taken by Roy Sneddon, a long standing member of 1009, in whom we all have great faith. Welcome to the position of Secretary, Roy, we're behind you all the way!

FREE 2007 CALENDARS FROM 1009!
As many of you will know, our annual road run is a tour of the New Forest for all MG owners, be they club members or not. It is not a charity road run per se but any profits we make have always been given to worthy causes nominated by 1009 branch members. It was with great pleasure this year that we were able to hand over cheques to Hampshire BASICS, Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance, Southampton Hospital Radio and the Copythorne Scout Troop.

NEW FOREST RUN SPONSOR

1009 - the Southampton & New Forest Branch of the MGOC - is pleased to announce that lthe main sponsor for this year's New Forest Run will be sponsored by Artisan Internet Limited.
The New Milton based internet services business already sponsors the clubs web site, not only by giving it a make-over on taking over the management of 1009's online presence, but also hosting it as part of their CarClubNet initiative. The scheme aims to provide subsidised hosting for Owners Clubs and Online Community's alike and is just part of Artisan Internet's commitment to supporting the local community.
