Tania's Talk : : December 2006

It’s hard to believe that another year has come and gone, and we’re here at the last newsletter of 2006 already. It really doesn’t seem like a year ago I was writing Tania’s Talk December 2005 and wishing everyone a happy Christmas!

We have the Christmas party on December 13th, at the Walhampton Arms. Hopefully I will manage to catch up with everyone at the Empress meeting regarding the remaining payments, but if you are unable to make the meeting, don’t worry - I will catch up with you by phone before the party! Please arrive at the Walhampton Arms for 7.30, as we will be aiming to be seated for 8.00pm. Don’t forget a small present (value under £5) for the Secret Santa!

We have been invited to join Bournemouth & Poole for their Christmas lunch at the Sir Walter Tyrell on Sunday 10th December from midday. If you would like to go along, there will be a collection of gifts (unwrapped) for the Bournemouth Women’s Refuge, as well as a raffle taking place in the afternoon. No formal pre-booking is needed, and food can be ordered on the day.

Our AGM will take place on the 3rd Wednesday in January, at the Empress of Blandings, and if there is anything you would like included on the agenda, please could you let either Martin or myself know as soon as possible? We would like to include a draft agenda in the January newsletter. The AGM will include ratification of secretary and treasurer positions - both Linda and myself are happy to carry on in these roles, but if anyone is interested in standing, then please let it be known before the AGM.

The AGM will also include a vote on the charity for the New Forest Run 2007. We have had a couple of organisations nominated but if there is a specific cause that you would like to put forward, please let me know as soon as possible, again so that I can make sure details are included in the January newsletter?

All that remains is for me to wish everyone a very happy Christmas, and all the best for a happy 2007.

Tania
