Tania's Talk : : March 2008

So here we are in March already… Those of you who take your MGs off the road through the winter will be starting to think about renewing the tax and blowing the cobwebs off for a new season.

From now on, the calendar slowly starts to fill up with events and meetings, until we reach the stage where we could all be doing something every weekend, if we only had the time!

But as we don’t all have the time to fit everything into our schedules, the next best thing is to be able to read about what other people have done. So if you do go along to any shows or events this year, why not share your experiences with others by writing a review for this newsletter? I can accept most formats, so don’t be put off if you don’t have email - typed or hand-written is still OK as well (unless your handwriting is like Bryan’s).

A few people have asked after the Horrocks Midget recently, so I hope you don’t mind me indulging in a quick update. “Lola” is still off the road at the time of writing, although the radiator is now off and ready for welding. Once that is fixed and back on, we can start to look for any other damage done by last year’s overheat on the way back from the Deanlander weekend event. However, we are hoping to have her back on the road soon, in time for joint appearances with Bryan’s Rover SD1 at some of this summer’s events. Rumours of a 1009 sweep-stake regarding what will break at which event this year are completely unfounded.

On a different note, I received an email recently from Dan Almond, of Detail Classique Ltd, who specialise in mobile detailing and paintwork correction. They also specialise in concours preparation, as well as being distributors Dodo juice and Poorboys. They are based in Salisbury, but also cover Hampshire and Dorset. If anyone is interested in finding out more about their work or services, the website address is www.detailclassique.co.uk, and I have a few leaflets that I can pass on. (Please note that this is not a club recommendation or endorsement, as we have not personally tried their service. If you do have experience of dealing with this company, please let me know)
