Tania's Talk : : February 2008

Firstly, congratulations to Malcolm Bailey who received the trophy for “Club Person of the Year” at the AGM in January. A very-much deserved award, recognising not only Malcolm’s work in developing and maintaining our club website, but also his regular support for club events.

I’m sorry I couldn’t make it to the AGM - I understand it was well attended, and decided a number of points about the NFR.

I did manage to get along to the New Year’s Day walk, from the Happy Cheese at Ashurst across country to Beaulieu Road. This was a lovely day, organised by Roy and Kris, and gave us all a chance to shake off those New Year’s hangovers. The weather was kind to us, and the walk was rounded off perfectly with coffee, warm sausage rolls and warm mince pies at the end. The picture on the front cover of the newsletter shows those of us who walked the first leg - along with canine MG-ers Dusty Knox and Maya Sneddon. We were joined at Beaulieu Road by David and Sylvia Purchase with Amy, and some intrepid walkers made the journey back to the Happy Cheese on foot while others drove back. It was a lovely day, and hopefully could become a regular feature if anyone is interested?

Thanks to everyone who has sent articles or details of events for this month’s newsletter - I seem to have received quite a lot of emails, which is great, but gives me a bit of a dilemma... Do I produce one bumper newsletter this month so that I can include everything that I’ve been sent? Or do I hold some of it over until next month? I decided on the latter... so if you have sent me something, and I haven’t included it, then PLEASE don’t be offended - it WILL be printed next month!

Tania
