Thank you to everyone who sent me articles for this month’s newsletter - 2 different sides to Goodwood, a piece on the Cobweb Spin, and a great Car of the Month. It’s always interesting to read about what other members do with their cars, so if you have something you would like to share, why not put pen to paper (or finger to keyboard) and tell us all about it? The more you send me, the less of my ramblings you have to read!
A slightly reduced “Editor’s Notes” this month then, as I would like to just include a quick update on the final round of the quiz league, which took place last month. One 1009 team, “The Irregulars”, was in 3rd place overall at the start of the evening, with “The Ton-Ups” (MASC) and “Dorset Mumbos” (1020) in 1st and 2nd places respectively.
On the night, “The Irregulars” were in fine form, and won the round, with a whopping 66 points! 2nd place overall, 1020 team “Dorset Mumbos”, were one of 3 teams unable to attend, so a winning margin of more than 26 points was all that was needed to take 1st place in the league… Unfortunately however, “The Ton-Ups” managed a score of 44, which although bottom on the night, still left them 4 points ahead overall.
Final scores then were as follows.

2nd – 1020/Dorset Dumbos (64)
3rd – 1009/We’ll Try Harder (56)
4th – MASC/Swinners Winners (55)
5th – MASC/The Ton-Ups (44)

2nd – 1009/The Irregulars (248.5)

“The Ton-Ups” collected the £65 cash prize to share between them, while “The Irregulars” could only muse on what might have been. 1009’s other team, “We’ll Try Harder”, did fantastically well with 3rd place on the night, and the fact that they really did do a whole lot better this year than they did in last year’s quiz was reflected in their 5th place overall.
