: : January 2007
Welcome one and all to A.D. 2007. Like me you may be wondering what this fine year will have in store? Well, I can tell you this is like Christmas for me, I’m like the kid who has been given the keys to the sweet shop. I love this time of year thinking ahead to all the days or weeks out I can enjoy. Already I know March will see the “Beauty” and I finding our way around the full Silverstone GP circuit with MGs-on-Track.
Which shows to attend? Stoneleigh, MG Era at Brooklands, Silverstone International? Then our old favourites, Kingston Lacy, Arundel Castle, Athelhampton, Bovington and our own Hampshire Pageant at Broadlands, which if you didn’t attend last year make sure you can this, because it is a real treat, with plenty for the whole family to see and do. So don’t delay, get yourself a diary to put everything in and make a plan of any jobs to complete on the car(s), you don’t want to miss out.
Bits, Bobs and the odd Spare Part
John Anderson e-mailed about a supplier of bits for MG that at first glance might seem an unlikely place to find them. John was looking for replacement rocker switches for his R/B ‘B’ and he found them at this company at a bargain price: Europa Specialist Spares Ltd., Fauld Industrial Estate, Tutbury, Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire, DE13 9HR - Tel 1283 815609 or see their web site at www.europaspares.com
They supply parts for old and new , hinges, switches, gauges, mirrors and many other parts at better than MG prices. Catalogues £1:00. I had a quick look at their web site; once you’ve opened it, click on the Catalogue tab at the top of the page, then on the brochure cover in the middle of the page. Down the left hand side of the page that opens is a list of items, go to Electrical, then Switches, then Rocker Switches and open it. There you will see Delta switches, they come in all the vital ones such as heater, rear demister and hazard at the bargain price of £6.34 each plus VAT. Now at Silverstone International this year I was looking for some of these and genuine new ones were £25+ and good second hand ones were £5 - £10, so we all know where to go now, and thank you John.
