About the Club

Welcome to 1009 ... the Southampton & New Forest branch of the MG Owners Club.

We are a small, but friendly, local branch of the MG Owners Club covering the Southampton and New Forest areas.  We are a mixture of MG owners, their spouses and their children who have also become MG drivers themselves!

We also welcome enthusiasts to join us from other areas - including Bournemouth and Poole in Dorset; Salisbury in Wiltshire and the rest of Hampshire of course!  Branch 1009 is affiliated to the MG Owners Club which is the largest car club in the world with over 50,000 members.

Our fleet currently features a number of MG Midgets, as well as a number of MGB Roadsters and GTs (both chrome bumper and rubber bumper versions), including an imported US model.  We are also home to a 1973 and a 1974 MGB GT V8 and a 'real' TF.  Of the modern variety there are several MGFs and TFs, an MG ZR and an MG ZT.

Our regular monthly meeting is held on the first Wednesday of every month at the Empress of Blandings in Copythorne, on the A31 (Copythorne Road) out of Cadnam.   We also have a mid-month meeting on the third Wednesday of the month.  For more information on our club meetings please check out the Our Meetings section.

We attend many events through the year, but we are best known for organising the annual New Forest Run, which attracts enthusiasts from all over the country.  We also have our own Auto Gymkhana and are partly responsible for inter-club quizzes during the winter.  Check out our Events Calendar to find out what's on!

You can also read our Secretary's regular editorial in regional of the MGOC's monthly magazine - "Enjoying MG".  This is sent out to all members of the MGOC on taking out your annual subscription.  For more information on joining the MG Owners Club please visit the official web site.
